Fast emerging as a gem among the major travel destinations in Uttarakhand, Dhanaulti offers a peaceful, relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. Dhanaulti is located at an altitude of 2,250 m, and is far away from the hustle-bustle, busy market places and pollution. Set amidst thick virgin forests of deodars, oaks and rhododendrons, Dhanaulti is the base point for numerous treks into the Himalayas, which includes trails to the Surkanda Devi Temple, Chandrabadni and Kunjapuri. There are several adventure resorts here offering activities like rappelling and zip- lining. Dhanaulti has several popular skating arenas as well. In winter, the small town is blanketed in snow and makes for a perfect holiday.

Surkanda Devi Temple

Situated about 7 km from Dhanaulti, Surkanda Devi Temple can be reached after a 3-km trek from the village Kaddu Khal. A trekker's paradise, the view from the temple is mesmeric. According to local legends, the Surkhanda Devi Temple was constructed at the same site where the head of Sati fell when Lord Shiva began tandava (a destructive dance) after the death of Sati, the Lord's divine consort. Earlier, the place was referred to as Sirkandha, but later on changed to Surkhanda. The temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India and is surrounded by a dense forest.

Dhanaulti Eco Park

There are two eco parks in Dhanaulti - located about 200 m apart. Named Amber and Dhara, these parks are spread over 13 hectares of deodar and oak forest. Eco Parks are among the most popular attractions of Dhanaulti. These are well-maintained and an amazing place for the kids to hang out, with a separate playground for them, also a perfect place for nature lovers as well as the adventurous ones to unwind and spend time in solitude.

Deogarh Fort

This 16th-century structure is full of breath-taking murals and rustic colours. With several Jain temples around, this fort also radiates a spiritual aura. Travel back in time with the ancient architecture.

Kausani is a hill station situated in Bageshwar district in the State of Uttarakhand, India. This beauteous hill queen is perched at an elevation of 1890 metres. It is advised to viist this place in winters to witness snowfall. Also Kausani is famous among tourist as Hill Station and Peace full Surroundings. Kausani is recommended destination for newly married couples. The pack season starts from late March till end of June, temperature drops to 2°C during winters. This place is transformed into snowy during the winters months of October to February. Visit this place during this period if you enjoy snow fall & cold climate.
